This blog is intended to be a forum for the discussion of child
health and disease prevention. I will post my thought and observations
from time to time and appreciate thoughtful dialogue from my readers.
Our children are products of what we put into them. I feel that we
can keep our children much healthier by ensuring that we put good
things into them. This includes what our children eat and drink. Also
what they observe, listen to, or experience. Let me abbreviate this as
EDOLE, for Eat, Drink, Observe, Listen to, Experience. I feel a
fundamental factor in our development is that we develop tolerance to
what we EDOLE. Here are a few examples of this tolerance. If we have a
childhood full of love and support, we will have more capacity to love
and support others. There is growing evidence that eating a variety of
foods earlier in infancy may help our immune system develop tolerance to
foods and reduce allergic reactions. The bottom line is that we are
what we EDOLE. I would like to hear your thoughts on this.
